The Proformative community is great because it allows us all to develop ourselves as human beings and finance professionals much faster than if we did it alone. There is so much experience in this network of professionals to share with others. If you could share one thing about life in general and one thing about business you could pass down to the next generation what would that be?
What is one piece of wisdom about life and business you would share for the next generation?

I would share my favorite quote from Steve Jobs as it speaks to success both personal and professional. I turn to it when I am in the process of making key life decisions.
"“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”--- Steve Jobs

Platitudes: If only life was that simple. :-(
Agreed, but the next generation needs to see something good in the world. My opinion is that life really is that simple, people are the ones who have complicated it.
Money, while a necessity, isn't all there is to life. I have seen unhappy rich people and happy poor people. Work some place that will give you a balance of the money you need and want, as well as the lifestyle you want. Choose what's most important to you and follow that first.
I took a significant pay cut four years ago to leave a job that was destroying me and interfering with my family life. After four years I now make what I left the other place making. My family is healthier and I enjoy my work 95% of the time. It's a pretty good thing.

Perception is reality. People will have opinions and beliefs, and they won't always be right or logical to you. In both your personal and professional life, always try and put yourself in the other person's shoes before reacting. In doing so you can help the relationship and make yourself a better person at the same time.
