What are some perks your company provides specifically for remote employees?
Answers
As a general rule, I do not support "work from home" or remote locations. That said, there are definitely exceptions where key talents are needed or having someone local is best.
Where that's the case, we would cover the "necessaries" to mimic an office location. We provide computer hardware and software to all our employees, but would also cover internet access, provide a wireless/cell stipend (varies based on usage and level of position) and reimburse office-related expenses (printer, paper, cartridges, internet-based "fax services," etc.).
Bottom line, though, my sense is that being remote is usually for the benefit/lifestyle of the employee, not the company, so the list of "perks" is short. Reproduce what would be provided in an office environment, and stop there.
I agree. All that should be provided is what is necessary to operate remotely. Working from home by itself is a perk. So I do not recommend perking a perk.
