Hello Experts, I have a question about accrued vacation earned in California (CA). I have been working in a firm for more than 10 years in CA. I have accrued around 270 hours and they get carried over every year. Now I have moved to another state (Texas) working for the same firm. But in Texas the accrued vacation doesn't get carried over every year. It gets reset to zero every new year. So my question to you is should my employer pay the 270 hours that I earned in CA or lose them? Please let me know. Thanks.

Your CA employer must pay out the vacation or make it possible to carry over the balance so that you don't lose it.
Karen is right. You would be entitled to the payout related to the CA vacation hours.
