Upgrading Accounting software, considering ERP for future scalability, any recommendations?

Carla, have a look at X3 from Sage. It should meet all the high-level requirements you have detailed.

Hi, have you considered Oracle's Cloud ERP offerings? Typically considered appropriate for large organisations, the cloud offering makes the ERP much more scaleable and so provides an integrated, future-proof solution.
Carla,
Check into GP 2015. It can be either totally in the clould or at your location. I have been using it in the cloud and have not had any problems.
I would highly recommend that you take a look at NetSuite, it is highly flexible and scalable, and they have a truly enterprise worthy e-commerce platform.
Carla,
You have most of this already with GP. By jumping to a newer version (2013 r2 or 2015) you can gain the "cloud" access you desire as well. You also don't need to use Microsofts cloud, your IT company can setup a hosted solution for your accounting system that will allow you to access your data anywhere.
As for the bringing in of Orders, warehouse, fulfillment, inventory Management and ecommerce, there are modules that interface with GP that do all of this. The question it finding the right fit for your organization.
Talk with your GP Partner and if you don't have a partner you should find one in your area.
Another option would be to attend a local GPUG user meeting in your area. This will allow you to network with other GP Users and get their feedback as well. If you have further questions don't hesitate to ask.
While you've gotten some good suggestions, you need to take a step back and examine your company, where you are today, where you'll be in the short, mid and long terms, systems and process and finally your budget and human capital.
Taking stock of your company (GAP Analysis), creating (even if internally) an RFQ/RFI and speaking with various software publishers, vendors/partners and having scripted (by you) demo's will enable you and your company to select the right software and platform.
Just because something seems sexy or an "easy upgrade" doesn't automatically make it the right choice.
Implementing a new accounting system is expensive, time consuming and can be extremely dangerous (many a company has gone out of business due to picking the wrong system(s) and conducting an sloppy implementation).
Take your time and do it right!
Thank you all for your candid advice, yes, I am planning to do my homework!
