I took the CISA exam in September of this year (2015). However, even before then I already found that IT auditing was no longer a major interest of mines like it has been 2 years ago and I no longer want to work as an IT auditor. I discovered my lack of interest back in May of this year. I took the Exam anyway cause I already spent a little more than half a thousand bucks for prepping for the exam and for sitting for the exam itself after knowing I no longer want to continue a career in IT auditing. I am now looking forward to becoming a knowledgable IT network engineer. I just learned that I passed the exam and I am eligible to receive the CISA certification. I want to find out if I would hurt my chances if I tell future employers about passing the CISA exam and the certification when applying for networking positions Would they still find out if I don't tell them? I don't think it makes sense to move forward with getting the certification but my current employer wants me to get it of course cause I have not told him yet that I will be moving into another field of IT, am waiting for the right time to tell him. Should I still certify at this point? The reason I ask is because from what I know so far the CISA certification has no relevance when it comes to network engineering and employers prefer certifications that pertain to the area of work that your doing. Could I be wrong about this? Thanks for your thoughts/feedback
