Rising up to senior position, the role changes from doing to managing, delegating and monitoring. How can I do monitoring effectively?

We call it Inspect what you Expect. You have to have a system of checks and balances in place but you must also inspect from time to time. Even the best people can try to hide things to avoid confrontation or fear of letting you down. I try to do this during my weekly one on one with each person. It takes less than one minute to run a report and scan down it to verify data. I keep certain tasks that will allow me to monitor different things. As we have grown it can get very difficult to inspect everything so for me it becomes priority levels. What will cause the most harm if left alone for to long. The most important element is to have a strong team that you trust because it makes it so much easier.
