Is your company doing anything out of the ordinary to recruit new employees that separates you from other organizations competing for the same talent?

We pay a "referral bonus" to our associates. If they refer a friend or customer and they obtain employment with us the associate will receive $100. We try to emphasize our benefits package but it's tough. The market is pretty saturated with resumes and we have seen a spike in turnover. It seems a lot of the candidates we hire - decide after a short period of time that the job isn't what they wanted; which is bizarre. I'd be interested to see other comments as well.
Here's a radical idea: actually make the effort to create a culture that respects and values the individual employee. Then people don't quit for perplexing reasons after getting a small taste. Not an easy task inasmuch as it involves mindset from all levels of
