Media Production Financing

I'm helping a company expand their operations; they primarily do short film animation (from idea through to post-production) and related graphic / product design for merchandising. Their funding has primarily been project-based private funding. It would be interesting as part of this project to expand that. Does anyone have a link to tutorials or similar advice on other funding sources or methods? For clarity, the current method is to bundle several properties together and fund them as a group. The group gets paid a % of gross through a shared pool. Sometimes limits are placed on this (time, geography, etc) if there is an appropriate reason (need to fund further to internationalize, etc). I do not have deep experience in funding media production, however, what I've seen is that startups and independents in this industry finance their work as you have described. Success is the key to open doors to additional financing sources for anyone or any business. Partners, suppliers, customers and others will want to be part of the team and will be willing to extend extra credit, provide loans or make investments when they have confidence in the management team's ability to produce successful results.

If the company has unique capabilities, technology or ideas and can capture the imagination of many, crowd funding (visit http://www.crowdfunding.com/) may present a good option for getting the desired funding to expand the business. Remember that even if you are successful with crowdfunding or another, new source of funding, producing the results that you project/promise is the key to scaling and growing your funding sources.
