I graduated from CSUF 5 years ago and I am thinking of pursuing an MBA, with that same school being one of my choices for grad school. Attending their program deals a lot of advantages for me but my main concern is the issue above. I went to a few info sessions before for different schools and have asked this same question to the facilitators and professors and all have given me differing answers, but mostly say a potential employer's input on this is based off on their personal preference or opinion. Is there any merit to this at all?

I went through this same confusion quite some time ago and I was told then by my advisors that if I was staying in state (where everyone would recognize my college) it wouldn't matter, but if I was leaving state it could. I left and moved several states away and it has not made an impact on my
This is just to stress a point -----> You could go to Harvard but if your hiring person is from Yale, he/she might NOT think highly of you.
Christie is right. It is all about YOU! I have worked with people who went to Ivy league schools and wondered how they got the job....moreso, why are they still in the job.
To add to Emerson "stress" point, if you get your MBA with a concentration in Finance, but the hiring person wanted organizational behavior, you're in the same boat.
If you want the MBA, get the MBA. If you want a concentration in bar hopping get that, because at the end of the day, you need to please yourself; you'll never please everyone else....
