The interface is much different than the desktop edition of QuickBooks but the existing desktop file can be converted to a QuickBooks Online file, so you don't have to start a new file and lose all of that history.
Sales Force also integrates with Xero. Although Xero is gaining a lot of support worldwide, the ease of conversion isn't there and the pricing of the 3rd party integration app is a function of the number of monthly transactions. So I wouldn't recommend that route for a high-volume business.
Accounting Seed is an app that expands Sales Force to be more of a "single source of truth" accounting system. I would be happy to have a conversation with you to help you ask the right questions of Accounting Seed to figure out if that makes the most sense for you or if SF+QBO makes more sense.
