We expect to make several senior level engineering, finance and sales hires over the next half year and are planning budgets and hiring plans accordingly. Given the developments in on-line social groups like Proformative, Linked in, and Craigs list, as well as general and specific recruiting websites that operate on a relatively low posting fee, I am surprised that there is still a specialist market for recruiters. I recognise that there is always a need for headhunters to reach those that dont know they are looking for a job, and that there are always companies that are too busy or focussed on their business to spend time filtering through a mountain of applications.
Has anyone done any studies to identify when it is best to go it alone with the on-line ads, and when to go with a full service recruiter?
