In a recent article on WSJ.com (10/25/13), the WSJ reports that McDonalds is removing Heinz Ketchup from their shelves based on the appontment as CEO of the one-time CEO of arch-rival Burger King. What do you think of this behavior? Does it show any respect for McDonalds customers? Will it hurt either company and why?

It appears pretty childish on the surface unless MCD has some legitimate reason to believe it will be disadvantaged by Heinz
There is a little more to the story than this. 3G is the PE firm behind the Heinz deal and has operating control (but Buffet does have adequate board representation). 3G is also the majority owner of Burger King. SO, it is beyond the placement of one CEO.
So, money isn't green anymore., depending on where it comes from? ;-)
