A colleague of mine suggests you take a look at Bill.com for their AP functionality. It apparently syncs with QB as well.

Judd,
We use ReadSoft's Invoices and are very happy with it. We don't integrate with QB but with a custom system. The program is well priced and very easy to use. If you would like additional information contact me directly.
Good luck in your search.

I've used Kofax in the past. http://www.kofax.com/business-process-automation
Hi Judd,
I am with MineralTree AP and Payment Automation. We are an end to end solution from invoice capture to payment execution. We sync with several ERPs including Quickbooks. We do not use settlement accounts so there is no float period and payments are expedited when you wish them to be. I am including an introduction video but certainly feel free to reach out to me for further information to see if we are a fit and to schedule quick a demo.

"Small" business and quickbooks are the key words... that being the case, Bill.com is the no-brainer solution. You'll actually the find the functionality and capability to be very strong. I've been very happy with it. Very easy to setup, use, and very cost effective.
Bill.com might indeed be the winner based on the couple of facts presented, but there are questions to be asked. We started looking into it because it is endorsed by the AICPA. We then adopted it for use by our own company, and we've been thrilled with it. The synchronization with QuickBooks is brilliant.
Before you embark on the spend, though, bear in mind that QuickBooks also has an internal document
It really depends on the situation. I'd be happy to talk about it with you and talk about features of QB as well as Bill.com. Contact me privately if you would like to know more.
It looks like most of the systems suggested "capture" data from a pdf invoice. I'd like some advice on an affordable solution that also includes e-invoicing, whereby suppliers must key-in their hours, rate and project #. We use a lot of contract labor and spend hours sending the invoices back to the supplier for corrections. Transcepta is something I've used with our customers, but it seems geared for larger companies and is probably pricy
Thanks for the recommendations!
I would highly recommend Bill.com
Low cost, easy setup, unlimited storage, $50 cost for archive CD with all invoices automatically indexed, flexible approval workflows, easy invoice capture, dashboards, auto payment posting...Please feel free to contact me if you need more information.
