Just an example......I had an employee DECLINE a promotion because it will take more of her time away from her kids. She told me that the money is good but time with her kids is more valuable to her.
The recent cases of PIMCO Co-CIO El Erian and there is one more CEO but I just can't remember now illustrates that everyone is different Circumstances are different, motivations are different, goals are different. skills/potential are different.
I do not think it is a simple answer.
