Not disclosing salary history on job application okay? (Webinar Attendee Question)

You shouldn't avoid this unless you don't want the job. HR will just put your resume in the circular file if you don't disclose what they want. You could call and ask the company what the salary range is for the position, so that if it is below what you are making you can just not apply. I personally don't like the question since I believe that you pay for the position, not based on what someone discloses on an application, however, there are legitimate uses for the data that HR uses that have nothing to do with trying to cherry pick the lowest paid person for the position.
